UNDERSTANDING CHANGE MANAGEMENT READINESS AMONGST AEROSPACE LEADERS
The business had been actively marketed by its PLC owner. A tier 3 aerospace engineering business it was acquired by a Private Equity (PE) House. Performance issues were quickly identified. The Managing Director was under pressure to instigate rapid change at individual director and organisational levels. The M & A projecthad essentially failed to deliver value.
Ramsey Hall had already very successfully recruited a Sales Director through its Executive Search practice for the client and the client. The PE house was now keen to make further changes. The focus was concentrated on leadership, operational performance and structure. Therefore, they hired The OPG to design and lead a change management project to instil rapid improvement.
A through one-on-one leadership assessment was compiled for each director. The OPG used online psychometric assessment and depth interviews. This was combined with 360-degree feedback to gain a truly objective understanding of potential, capability and change readiness.
HOW CHANGE MANAGEMENT MADE A POSITIVE IMPACT
The findings confirmed the need to make urgent structural changes amongst the leadership team. In addition corporate governance concerns were highlighted by The Ramsey Hall Board Effectiveness consultant. There was also a need to tackle a highly sensitive HR issue which had been exposed during the process.
The Consultants were then further engaged to provide organisational development solutions around role profiles and new governance processes. At the same time Ramsey Hall’s Executive Search and Non-Executive Director (NED) Practice recruited further, high calibre NEDs for the business.
