Management Due Diligence & Organisational Redesign pre-PE Acquisition

The Situation:

The leadership team of a privately owned contractor who provide services to NHS patients was to be prepared for sale to a private equity house. The CEO had deep concerns about the behaviours and governance practices of the leadership team as well as reporting lines and organisational accountability.

The Solution:

The OPG has provided over 100 assessments for the client over a number of years so asking the OPG team to undertake a management due diligence exercise and make recommendations regarding the structure, reporting lines and leadership team effectiveness was an obvious choice.

This multi-level intervention involved online psychometric assessment with one on one depth interviews with each executive. Individual evaluation reports were accompanied by a gap analysis which analysed top management team effectiveness and a report on how the organisation could be streamlined for greater productivity.

The Outcome:

The CEO had a greater understanding of what changes needed to be made in the organisation with streamlined reporting lines, action to improve leadership talent and a though performance and capability evaluation for each leader.

The data helped the CEO to prepare the company pre acquisition and effectively make ongoing decisions post acquisition.

The company has become leaner and more productive as a result.
