Assessment Centres

Assessment Centres predict future job performance better than any other selection or assessment technique.  Their predictive power is derived from presenting candidates with several different simulation exercises which are observed and evaluated by a number of assessors. The effective design and delivery of realistic simulations along with making best use of psychometrics is vital to the success of the assessment centre.

Implementing a well-designed assessment centre will:

Ensure that individuals are assessed against key behaviours that make a difference to performance
Allow the organisation to observe the performance of candidates in a range of settings
Provide a comprehensive understanding of the candidate’s likely performance in the role
Provide detailed information on the likely development needs of the successful candidates
Offer a realistic job preview for the candidates

The Occupational Psychology Group can design, implement and facilitate an assessment centre that assesses the core skills for the job and fits in with your organisational culture.  We can also work with you to train your own internal facilitators to implement an effective centre.  If psychometrics are required, we will ensure that they are effectively implemented and that the information they provide is related to the job requirements. We will design each simulation activity to be realistic and relevant to both the job and the organisational setting. We will also develop comprehensive structured interviews to complement the assessment centre, if required.
