The world of Occupational Psychology is full of acronyms. It can sometimes be a bit confusing, so we have put together a few of the most common ones with a brief explanation of what they are about.

HDS - Hogan Development Survey – A leading industry tool which looks into personality traits.

HPI - Hogan Personality Inventory -this test is a measure of ‘normal’ personality and is used to predict job performance.

MBTI - Myers Briggs Type Indicator – Is a psychometric assessment tool designed to show psychological preferences, perceptions and decision making processes.

MVPI - Motives Values Preferences Index – This test shows an individual’s core values, goals and interests.

MQ -  Motivation Questionnaire by SHL – This test helps to show what motivates, and equally demotivates, an individual.

OPQ32r - The Occupational Personality Questionnaire by SHL – One the world’s most widely used questionnaires to show behaviour at work.
