Understanding the Team in Order to Facilitate Development
 

A global market leader in medical devices had been experiencing a significant period of change following a period of rapid growth and acquisition by another company.  The client felt that staff turnover was too high and service levels needed to be developed. 

Our Chartered Occupational Psychologists met the team to understand the requirements and to design a development centre which could assess and develop the team’s capability both at individual and team level.  From the outset the brief was clear.  We needed to identify whether existing team members had the capability to succeed or whether redeployment or exit was required.  The client was also keen to understand the team dynamic and what each team member thought about one another.

The solution was to provide a development centre combining aptitude testing with personality profiling and 360 degree feedback.  Our team trained the assessors for the programme and developed the assessment matrix before managing the project and presenting the data.
We were able to design and gain ‘buy in’ for personal development plans for each participant and provide a GAP analysis report for the senior managers.

The success of this project has led to repeat business with other departments.
