 Poor leadership practices had been identified within a well known charity.  Ramsey Hall’s Executive Search Practice was engaged by the Trustees to recruit a new CEO. The brief was to provide stability and to inject fresh leadership into the charity.

Partly because of the leadership concerns created by the previous CEO, a full leadership assessment of all the directors was undertaken.  Consequently,  hard decisions could be made with regards to the executive team’s composition and capability. The exercise also identified the cause of the existing, highly corrosive team conflict.  This depth of analysis is what stands out when The OPG provides leadership and executive assessment solutions.

The executive assessment involved online psychometric assessment, 360-degree feedback, Situational Judgement Tests and interviews. The whole process identified issues at feedback interview stage in terms of behaviours and also deep seated organisational and wider corporate governance concerns.

A team review provided the new CEO with a full leadership evaluation of each director (with a bespoke feedback report for each candidate). A Group Report gave further details of the wider team effectiveness. This helped The OPG consultants to design a leadership development programme with executive coaching for the team.

In addition, a gap analysis was presented to the client with recommendations around establishing an audit committee and risk management processes.  The recommendations were followed through by the Trustees after consultation with the charity’s accountants.
